Chipengine launches for India’s Semiconductor Transformation

At an important event held at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) in Kerala,  Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister responsible for electronics and IT, skill development and entrepreneurship and Jal Shakti, expressed India’s potential as a global semiconductor hub. Chandrasekhar stressed on the imperative of designing chips and IP for diverse industries and outlined a roadmap for entrepreneurs in Trivandrum and Kerala to lead the innovation drive.

 

Aiming for Leading Semiconductor Design Infrastructure

The centre aims to make chip design infrastructure easily accessible to the semiconductor community, while promoting inclusivity and collaboration. ChipIn aims to democratize access to chip design infrastructure across the country, empowering India’s semiconductor ecosystem. With a focus on advanced node technologies,  the centre aims to empower students,  researchers and industry professionals with the resources needed to foster innovation.

Government Support: In line with the vision of the Government,  the ChipIN Centre receives support to strengthen the semiconductor ecosystem in India, leading to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s goal of making India a global semiconductor hub.

Centralized Design Facility: The ChipIN Centre acts as a centralized centre, offering a wide range of design flows and services to the semiconductor community in India.

Educational Outreach:  Engaging with more than 10,000 students from 120 academic institutions and 20 start-ups, ChipIN aims to empower the next generation of semiconductor engineers through access to state-of-the-art Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools.

Expansion Plans:  Planned to empower 85,000 students across various academic levels, ChipIN Centre aims to inculcate a culture of innovation and skill development across the country.

 

Industry Collaboration: Chipin collaborates with industry leaders to support academia and start-ups, increase access to EDA tools and expertise.

 

Exam Related Facts:

 

It hosts state-of-the-art equipment covering the entire chip design cycle, including front-end design, back-end design, PCB design and analysis, completing various design types.

The Chipin Center provides comprehensive support, provides services for design manufacturing and packaging, ensuring a seamless design process.
