Bamboo Sector Development workshop inaugurated by Narendra Tomar

• Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare  has inaugurated the National Workshop on Bamboo Sector Development in New Delhi.
• The event is being supported by the Ministry of Agriculture as the continuation of efforts to sketch a bamboo economy for benefiting millions of people across the country including farmers, traditional artisans, craft-skilled youth, designers, entrepreneurs and investors.
• The event is being organized with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Invest India and Kerala State Bamboo Mission.
• It aims to identify areas for improvement and explore expert suggestions to transform the bamboo industry.

First meeting of Central Asia JW Group on Afghanistan held in India

• The first meetingof the India-Central Asia Joint Working Group on Afghanistan was held in New Delhi.
• The meeting was attended by the Special Envoys and Senior Officials of India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, & Uzbekistan.
• During the meeting, discussions were held on the current situation in Afghanistan, including the political, security, and humanitarian situation.
• While emphasizing the respect for sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity and non-interference in its internal affairs, all the participants have reiterated their support for a peaceful, secure and stable Afghanistan.

Yaoshang festival begins in Manipur

The Yaoshang festival has begun on the 7 March and will continue for five days in Manipur.

• The festival is celebrated by the Meetei who are predominantly Hindu and it is celebrated at the same time as Holi.
• It is celebrated for five days in spring, starting on the full moon day of the month of Lamda (February-March).
• During this Yaoshang festival, apart from playing with colour, the festival also witnessed a number of cultural and religious activities for five days.

UP to host the 8th edition of Indian Fharma Fair (IFF)

• The eighth edition of Vedshiv Business Media’s Indian Fharma Fair (IFF)2023 will be organized in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh from March 17 to 18 March 2023.
• This exhibition will focus on expanding the pharmaceutical industry in India, mostly through Third Party Manufacturing, PCD/ Franchise.
• The fair will present the most up-to-date trends and technology in the pharmaceutical, drug, and formulation industries.

ECI host the 3rd International Conference on ‘Election Integrity’

Odisha CM unveiled Dakota aircraft for public viewing in Bhubaneswar

• It was unveiled on the 107th birth anniversary of the former CM of Odisha.
• The iconic Dakota Aircraft belongs to erstwhile Kalinga Airlines and was founded by Ex-Chief Minister of Odisha (Late) Biju Patnaik.
• It was brought from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata to Bhubaneswar on January 18, 2023.
• A 10-member team of Aerospace Research Development required has dismantled the aircraft and packed it in proper shape for public viewing.

Khelo India Dus ka Dum tournament to be organized to celebrate International Women’s Day 2023

• In the run-up to the International Women’s Day 2023 celebrations, Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports isset to organize the Khelo India Dus Ka Dum tournament from 10th to 31st of March.
• The Ministry has sanctioned a total budget of 50 Lakh rupees to conduct the tournament.
• Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur will remain present at the opening ceremony of the event on March 10 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in the national capital.
• The tournament features 10 sports that will be held across 10 cities in the country.
• Nearly 15 thousand women athletes are set to participate in the tournament.

Veteran actor-director Satish Kaushik passed away

• At the age of 67Veteran actor-writer-director Satish Kaushik passed away .
• He directed Sridevi`s film, “Roop Ki Rani, Choron Ka Raja” and later “Prem”, both disasters, but he got his big hit with “Hum Aapke Dil Me Rehte Hain” and also “Tere Sang”, among many others.
